Game-Based Learning for Teachers

Game-Based Learning for Teachers

Most books about game based learning are aimed at academics. I love (many of) these books and they have greatly informed my practice as a designer of such games.

However, until this book, nobody had considered the context of use of real on-the-ground teachers. Many teachers have an appreciation of the power of games and play for learning in the classrom but very few teachers have the spare time required to read academic books and hunt for effective games.

Working with partners in Germany, Portugal, and Greece I was commissioned to co-author a book on game based learning to solve this problem. Our book is a teacher-centric exploration of game based learning. Working with teachers across Europe, we wrote a guide with practical examples contextualised for use in the classroom by real teachers.

The book is available in print or as a free PDF.
