I have a soft spot for this game. This was the first real game I ever developed. I was part of a team who won the Dare to be Digital competition in 2005. Our game was the world’s first cross-platform game. It played a little like XCOM (or really Laser Squad Nemesis) and allowed players to take their turns regardless of whether they were on a PC or a mobile phone.
I was the main game designer on the project and was responsible for developing the web architecture that supported cross platform play. This was funny for me because it meant that my first ever game projet saw me continuing as a web-dev, writing SQL queries and processing logic on the server side.
